Spiritual gifts

The gift of Teaching

You make hard things understandable. God gave you the patience to break truth into pieces people can actually carry home.

Romans 12:7 · 1 Corinthians 12:28 · Ephesians 4:11

“The one who teaches, in his teaching.”Romans 12:7

In the church

Bible study, children's church, new-member class — wherever you serve, people leave knowing something they did not know, and believing they can learn more.

Outside the church

You are the trainer, the tutor, the coworker everybody asks. You explain the form, the policy, the diagnosis, the homework.

In childhood

You lined up dolls or siblings and taught them. You loved explaining the rules of the game more than playing it.

In adulthood

You stop performing knowledge and start transferring it. Your joy shifts from being right to watching the light come on in someone else.

With others who share it

Teachers refine each other. Study with other teachers, swap lesson plans, and let someone tell you when you are going over people's heads.

Your #GLO plan — Give Light, Offer Hope

  • Pick one group — a class, a small group, a grandchild — and commit to a season with them.
  • Turn one thing you have learned the hard way into a simple lesson.
  • Ask your learners one honest question: what still isn't clear?
  • Leave people with a next step, never just information.
